Join us for an informative Open Day event, offering you a glimpse into the world of Nottingham Muslim Women’s Network (NMWN). Our Open Day is scheduled for Wednesday 22nd November 2023.
This is your opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and acquire insightful perspectives from our organisational experts regarding their daily operations. Throughout the morning, you will be provided with the chance to explore various essential roles and participate in informative presentations facilitated by our team members.
Having started out as a community group in 2014 with one member of staff, we now have a team of 10 paid members of staff and we provide a wide range of support services for Muslim Women and girls.
- DV Support Worker: NMWN provides help for Muslim women facing domestic violence, including immigration-related issues, the Freedom Program (which is an intervention program for victims of domestic abuse), moral support, and guidance on Islamic divorce.
- Outreach Support Worker: This involves aiding Muslim women in various aspects of their lives, including legal surgeries, drop-in sessions for consultation, advocacy on their behalf, help with housing and benefits issues, and showcasing the organisations work at community events.
- Sports, Health, and Wellbeing: This focuses on promoting physical and mental well-being among Muslim women and girls. Activities include group walks, various sports, and fitness activities, promoting a football ambassador.
- Campaigns Officer: This involves organizing and advocating for specific campaigns related to Muslim women and girl’s well-being and empowerment. Topics may include health and well-being, employability (helping women find jobs or gain new skills), English classes, awareness raising workshops and hosting coffee mornings as a way to bring people together.
